A Week of Terror: Russia Rains 1,260 Bombs, 750+ Drones on Ukraine

Over the past week, Russia has unleashed a devastating barrage against Ukraine, firing 1,260 aerial bombs, 750 attack drones, and more than 10 missiles of various types. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the sustained assault, highlighting the key factors enabling Moscow’s war machine to maintain such intensity.

According to Zelenskyy, Russia’s continued aggression is fuelled by three primary elements: the circumvention of international sanctions, high oil revenues, and Ukraine’s insufficient stockpile of long range missiles and drones. These factors allow the Kremlin to maintain a relentless tempo of strikes, causing widespread destruction and loss of life across Ukraine.

Weapons Used by Russia in One Week Quantity
Aerial Bombs 1,260

Missiles of Various Types 10+

The President stressed the urgent need for increased global efforts to weaken Russia’s oil industry, which serves as a financial lifeline for the Kremlin’s war efforts. He called on Ukraine’s international allies to step up investments in the country’s defence sector, asserting that strengthening Ukraine’s military capabilities is not only crucial for national security but also essential for safeguarding lives.

Zelenskyy underscored Ukraine’s commitment to ramping up the production of its own missiles and drones. He urged all partners to view support for Ukraine’s defence industry as a direct investment in global stability and security, warning that Russia’s ability to sustain such high levels of aggression poses a broader threat beyond Ukraine’s borders.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has also reiterated that the Kremlin has no interest in genuine peace negotiations with Ukraine. Instead, it continues its campaign of destruction while using diplomatic manoeuvres as a smokescreen.
