Dnipro and its surrounding communities came under Russian missile and drone attacks early on Friday morning, causing extensive damage to civilian infrastructure. A fitness centre, hotel, office building, and several residential properties were among the many sites hit in a new wave of aggression by the Kremlin.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Serhiy Lysak, confirmed the attack through an official statement on Telegram. According to his report, Russian missiles struck several areas in the city of Dnipro, damaging a hotel, an office, and a fitness centre. Explosions were heard in the Dnipro district, and although no injuries or deaths were reported, fires broke out in several locations, including Pidhorodne and the Novooleksandriv community.
Dry grass ignited in multiple areas, leading to fires that reached private homes and greenhouses. Emergency services successfully extinguished the blazes. The Nikopol region was also hit by kamikaze drones and Grad multiple rocket launch systems, with strikes damaging apartment blocks, private houses, vehicles, gas pipelines and power lines. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
In Kryvyi Rih’s Zelenodolsk community, Russian forces attacked using an FPV drone, again sparking grass fires. In Synelnykiv district’s Slovyansk community, missiles set fire to a disused building and a vehicle. A lyceum, a kindergarten, over thirty homes and multiple vehicles were damaged.
Ukrainian air defence systems intercepted three unmanned aerial vehicles and three missiles, which prevented further destruction.
