Gunfire for Publicity By Russian Man Sparks Anger in Occupied Ukrainian City

In the occupied city of Mariupol, a man identified as a visitor from Russia staged a reckless shooting from a moving car, reportedly for online attention. The incident has caused outrage among local residents, especially due to the complete silence and inaction from occupation law enforcement authorities.

According to the Mariupol City Council, the person involved was preliminarily identified as Jabrail Murtuzaliev, a martial arts enthusiast who travels across Russian cities in his Lada Priora. He was recently seen visiting the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic, where the incident took place during the night. A video posted on local social networks showed Murtuzaliev firing into the air while driving, an act he apparently committed in pursuit of social media hype.

Despite the dangerous and provocative nature of the act, no arrests or official responses have been made by the occupying Russian-installed police. Residents, who continue to live under the control of Russian forces, have expressed frustration not only with the brazen behaviour of Russian visitors but also with the absence of any rule of law or safety under the occupation.

This is not the first shocking incident in occupied Mariupol. The city continues to uncover graves of local civilians killed during the brutal Russian assault in 2022, and basic infrastructure like the sewage system remains in collapse, described by reports as a “lake of faeces”.

The city, once a thriving part of Ukraine’s Donetsk region, has been transformed into a grim stage of Russian neglect and lawlessness. The latest incident is seen by locals as another reminder that while Moscow claims to bring “stability,” it actually delivers only fear, chaos, and decay.
