Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs) continue their attempts to penetrate Ukraine, particularly in the northern part of Sumy region. The enemy aims to identify defensive positions and inflict damage on the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, confirmed this information during a live broadcast on Monday, as reported by UNN.
Attempts by enemy sabotage groups to infiltrate Ukrainian territory persist, with increased activity recorded in the northern Sumy region. At the same time, there is a risk of similar incursions along other sections of the border with Russia. One such group was detected near the border in Sumy district, but in a different area than where Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting an operation in Kursk region. The enemy continues to use various tactics to breach Ukraine’s borders.
Russian forces are attempting to expose Ukrainian defensive positions, cause damage to military infrastructure, or mine the area. The occupiers are also trying to move small assault units towards Novenky and Zhuravka to gather forces and expand the combat zone. However, Ukrainian troops effectively neutralise these units before they cross the border.
Russian shelling of Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions continues, with the most frequent attacks occurring in the Sumy and Kharkiv directions. Russian forces are actively deploying explosive drones and FPV drones, some equipped with fibre optic control.
Along the border with Kharkiv region, enemy activity is concentrated in the areas of Lyptsi and Vovchansk, where heavy fighting is ongoing.
Vadym Mysnyk, spokesman for the Seversk Operational and Tactical Group, recently reported that Russian forces are actively targeting border communities in Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions. He also noted that the largest concentration of enemy troops is located opposite Sumy region, in Kursk, where Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to carry out combat operations.
