Donald Trump has stated that he expects a response from Russia regarding peace negotiations with Ukraine in the coming days. According to the US President, the process has been progressing slowly, and he hopes for a prompt reaction from Moscow.
During a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Trump said that a reply from the Kremlin is likely this week. His comments were shared in a briefing reported by UNN.
“We will see. We will hear from them this week, very soon. We will see how it goes. I think he (Putin – ed.) is late. Everything is moving very slowly, and I am not happy about this. We will see, we will wait, and I hope he gives his answer quite quickly,” Trump stated.
As a reminder, French President Emmanuel Macron held talks today with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Steve Witkoff, Special Representative of President Trump, who is actively involved in the peace discussions related to Russia’s war against Ukraine. Prior to that, Macron also met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
