Ukrainian soldiers from the 72nd Mechanized Brigade, named after the Black Zaporozhians, successfully repelled an enemy assault, destroying 13 Russian military vehicles. The brigade’s press service released a video showing the destruction of the convoy. The attack was executed with precision, starting with aerial reconnaissance that guided Ukrainian forces in targeting the enemy.
The Russian convoy was first hit by mines strategically placed along its route. As the invading forces attempted to regroup, Ukrainian reconnaissance adjusted artillery strikes, further weakening the enemy. Realising they were under attack, Russian troops tried to move towards a forested area to evade Ukrainian drones. However, they failed to escape detection.
Ukrainian forces then deployed drones equipped with explosive munitions and FPV strike drones, which delivered the final blows to the enemy. The assault resulted in the destruction of three Russian tanks, four Akhmat armoured vehicles, one additional military transport vehicle, and the elimination of approximately 40 Russian soldiers.
Electronic warfare systems also played a critical role in neutralising about 100 enemy drones, significantly reducing the Russian ability to conduct further assaults. The effectiveness of Ukrainian defences highlights the continued failure of Russian forces to gain ground despite their persistent offensives.
In a separate engagement, two soldiers from the 425th “Skala” Separate Assault Battalion successfully repelled another enemy attack and captured Russian prisoners of war. A group of four Russian infantrymen attempted to seize a Ukrainian-held building defended by only two Ukrainian soldiers. The Russians, supported by a machine gunner in a nearby building, opened fire on Ukrainian positions. However, a well-placed grenade quickly silenced the Russian machine gunner.
The Russian infantrymen then attempted to advance towards the structure but were intercepted by Ukrainian FPV drones. The drones successfully eliminated a Russian machine gunner and forced the remaining attackers into a defensive position. Eventually, the Ukrainian soldiers forced the two surviving Russian invaders to surrender, capturing them in the process.
